Hi!  I’m Penny Reese.  Welcome to the Stitched With Love Cottage.

My mom taught me to sew when I was young.  And who can forget 7th grade Home Economics class?  Although I didn’t really recognize it fully at the time, she was an incredible sewist.  Clothes, costumes and Barbie dresses.  Upholstering furniture and even automobile seats and interiors.

While I have made many a costume (my daughters were into Renaisance Faires and cosplay as teenagers), riding outfits and even dressed a horse once, my true joy is making pretty, twirly little girls clothing.  When my daughters were young, I rarely sewed for them -no time!  But as a grandma, I’m having a wonderful time!  There is something so satisfying in finding beautiful fabric (I usually find too much!) and turning it into something special.  The sparkle in my granddaughter’s eyes as she spins and twirls is pure joy.

It has been a secret dream of mine for a long time to make more of those smiles.  Skirts are the starting point and I hope to add more options in time.  Your feedback is greatly desired.  My hope is to help fulfill your dreams too.  I promise to do my best.

All garments are made of high quality designer quilting cotton (If you have been to a quilt store, you know how expensive that is.)  This fabric is well made to hold up to lots of play.  All seams are double stitched for the same reason.  My granddaughter has been putting them to the test for at least three years.

So sit down with your special girls and dream together.
